What a story!

Jonathan is one serious jedi!

We had a scheduled appoint wednesday night which was moved to this morning. Around 30mins past his appt time his canadian (freestyle arials) ski teammate called me to explain why Jonathan was not there, that he had over hit the quad jump and landed on his back, knocking himself out, breaking his right shoulder blade and possibly breaking his nose. Although he was very injured, he was determined to proceed with his getting tattooed.

So, he showed up at Suncity, bright and early by 9am, and we were linning the first of two wings by 10am. Took forever to align them up evenly. Not only did he NOT ONCE flinch, but he didn't even so much as crack a joke about the bad spots around the ankle bone(did i mention he hadn't taken ANY pain killers yet?) AND because of his shoulder, HE HAD to STAND the whole time!!!!

Hopefully this will humble the complainers and winers, they do hurt but someone out there has felt waaaayy worse!!

Thanks Jon! Inspiring man!

Seasons openings

Thats right, by this weekend, all ski resorts will be open in BC. I have been sneaking a few days in already on my own time and sweat. I hiked up one of the main runs making my own path up the fresh snow. Ive been able to get three days in this week alone! Might I add that these three days were absolutely unreal! Heres some shots from this week. The snow was the best ive ridden in years!!

NEW TATTOOS!

Nikki is a client from Craftsman that I started this sleeve on while working there. Lucky for both of us, she is from a small town just outside penticton and visits often. Nightmares she had about her elbow, so I saved it for her next trip.
Lexi has big plans to continue her cherry blossom branch up and across her back. So this was a nice start for her.
Greg had the best intentions to get his arm done all in a single session to prove his strength for his son, 7.5 hrs later, it was done.
Justin got this while back home visiting his friends and family, he's headed for the big time with his recent draft to Phenoix!!
Shannons first tattoo, cherry blossoms and forget me knots. First tattoos are always the easiest and the bigger the better, always!

Heres a taste of a summer in Penticton

We live in such a beautiful place, most of us can't wait to leave here after high school. Well I was no different. I have found my way home, and will never look back or forget the amazing experiences I have had in the past. HOWEVER, I never plan to leave again!!

Climbing @ skaha bluffs a few times a week before work :D
Mexican Bulldogs @ Best damn sports bar
a new way to get "iced"
OH YES, ALL summer long!
my neighbours view... its alright, only second level.. meh
Dollar tacos @ Best damn sports bar
view from my deck, not as good. but the lightning storms are in that direction!
raw oysters and boat drinks @ Salty's Beachhouse

SUMMER IS FLYING BY!

WOW!

Its mid august already and I haven't made a post in what seems like forever now. SOO, heres some goodies Ive been holding back till, now?
Finished Jayne's half sleeve up way before sumer was underway, I have just yet to figure out how to splice multiple photos in the new CS5 photoshop.

Sharon is the nicest 'older' lady I have tattooed, yet I feel horrible after each session we have. She was one of my clients from CRAFTSMAN TATTOO while I was there.

SIMON @ INK MACHINE

On the weekend I drove out to edmonton to get tattooed by simon, who was visiting from montreal. His work is unreal and a huge inspiration to me. My original plans were to just get a flower on the back of my neck to finish it off and fill some gaps. Simon suggested we cover my tribal on my back and so i was game! we ended up going WAYY bigger then I intended and is now the start of an amazing backpiece to come! SOO STOKED!

Be sure to check out simons work @ dadahell.com , danny Gordey @ INK MACHINE , and of course Shawns work shawnoconnor.ca

MOVING HOME

Thats right, I am moving HOME TO PENTICTON.

Craftsman has been so good to me, but my heart and family are in Penticton, and that is what truly matters to me in my life.

Here are some photos from the last few trips to my homeland.

April In PENTICTON

I am still figuring out how this blog works, so this post starts from the end of the trip to the beginning. oops

Slowly I am filling the shop with prints and flash. This is the first SET to go up, provided by Shawn O'connor during his week in penticton. Shawn is also going to start making semi-regular trips to penticton, so if you would like to get tattooed from him, DONT SLEEP ON IT! his trips book up fast! shawnoconnor.ca

glen sat 4.5hrs for his second sitting and we got just about all the black and grey done, I had fun using a LARGE needle grouping on this one to fill the big wind bars in a soft manner. I am definately hoping to do more projects like this in the future!
Jen, is Glens wife, we finished up her ribs just in time to get his sleeve going. I have a feeling they will be piggy backing projects as Jen is already talking about doing a 3/4 sleeve once Glen is finished. Her flowers flow nicely and Im happy how everything came together. Thanks Jen!
Spence came back once again for another EPIC piece. im so stoked on this one, as this was actually my idea for a tattoo that she got. I have a slight fascination with roses and skulls/horns lately, I have a feeling you will see more...
Its a tight squeeze, but we made it work. Shawn was working on his client from vancouver, while i was finishing up a section of a large piece on my sister. I think, its time to do some changes with the studio as shawn and I will be planning trips like this more often then few.
